There is something refreshing about a shotgun that does one thing and does it well. The JTS Lonestrike is a full-size break-action single shot in 20 gauge, built around a 28 inch blued steel barrel and a fixed hardwood stock with a warm brown finish. It is hammer-fired, so you always know exactly where the gun stands, and the exposed hammer plus the simple break-open design make it one of the easiest platforms to teach on. When the day is done, it comes apart quickly for cleaning or tucks into a shorter case than most repeaters ever could.
The 3 inch chamber gives you plenty of room to work with, from light 2-3/4 inch target loads for clays and small game up to full-power magnum shells. The barrel is threaded for Rem choke tubes and ships with an Extra Full choke already installed, which is a nice touch if turkey season is on your calendar since that tight constriction keeps patterns dense at longer distances. Swap in a more open tube and the same gun handles doves, squirrels, and rabbits without complaint. A brass bead up front keeps the sight picture simple, an ejector kicks spent hulls clear for faster reloads, and sling studs are already in place so you are not drilling into that hardwood yourself.
One thing you do not always see at this end of the market: the receiver comes drilled and tapped for a Weaver 82 Classic rail, so adding a red dot or a compact scope for turkey work is a bolt-on job. A solid rubber recoil pad takes the sting out of heavier loads, which matters more in a lightweight single shot than people expect.
Whether it becomes a first shotgun, a truck gun, or a dedicated turkey rig, the Lonestrike covers a lot of ground with almost nothing to go wrong. Load one, break it open, repeat. Sometimes that is all a shotgun needs to be.

This model is threaded for Rem choke pattern tubes and ships with an Extra Full choke already installed. That tight constriction is ideal for turkey loads, and you can swap to a Modified or Improved Cylinder tube for upland birds, small game, or clays.
The Lonestrike has a 3 inch chamber, so it will run both 2-3/4 inch and 3 inch 20 gauge shells. That covers light target loads all the way up to magnum turkey and waterfowl-style loads. Just keep in mind it is a lightweight single shot, so heavy magnums will have some kick.
