This is a full-size, striker-fired 9mm built with the kind of thoughtfulness you don't always see at this price point. The 4.6" button-rifled barrel comes threaded at 1/2×28, so it's ready for a suppressor or muzzle device right out of the box, and the suppressor-height combat sights mean you won't lose your sight picture once you mount a can. The slide is serrated and milled for optics, with four adapter plates included in the box for Trijicon RMR, Vortex Venom, Leupold Delta Point Pro, and Sig Romeo1 footprints.
The ergonomics here are genuinely well thought out. Three interchangeable wrap-around backstraps in small, medium, and large, combined with a deep beavertail, let you dial in the grip to fit your hand rather than the other way around. The grip texture is aggressive enough to stay put during fast strings without being uncomfortable during a long range session. The trigger guard is oversized for use with or without gloves, which is a nice touch for anyone who carries or trains in cold weather. Controls, including the slide stop and magazine release, are fully ambidextrous, making this one of the more left-hand-friendly options in its category.
The Masada runs a modular, serialized high-grade steel trigger mechanism housing that lifts right out for cleaning and maintenance without much fuss. The trigger pull sits at 6 pounds with a clean break and a positive, tactile reset. It's not a competition trigger, but it's consistent and confidence-inspiring in a duty or carry context. The frame is built from fiberglass-reinforced polymer, and like everything IWI makes, it's engineered to hold up under rough handling and adverse conditions. An integrated Picatinny-style rail up front handles lights and lasers. This variant ships with two steel 17-round magazines.
The Masada Tactical barrel is threaded at 1/2×28, which is the standard thread pitch for 9mm suppressors and muzzle devices in the US. This means it's compatible with the vast majority of 9mm cans on the market. The pistol also comes with suppressor-height combat sights so you maintain a usable sight picture even with a suppressor attached.
IWI includes four adapter plates in the box to directly mount a Trijicon RMR, Vortex Venom, Leupold Delta Point Pro, or Sig Romeo1. Each plate comes with the appropriate screws for a direct-to-slide fit. IWI advises sticking to these supported footprints to avoid damaging the slide, so reach out to IWI US customer service if you want to run something outside that list.
The Masada ships with three wrap-around backstraps sized small, medium, and large, and the medium is typically installed at the factory. Each one swaps out quickly and works in combination with a deep beavertail to change the overall feel and grip angle of the pistol. It's a solid system for households or units where multiple people shoot the same gun.
The Masada uses a trigger safety only, similar to the approach taken by Glock and many other duty-grade striker-fired pistols. The trigger safety prevents the gun from firing unless the trigger is deliberately pressed. There is no external thumb safety or grip safety on this model.
The Masada uses a modular serialized steel trigger mechanism housing that can be removed without tools, making field-stripping and routine cleaning very straightforward. Most owners find it comparable to other modern striker-fired pistols in terms of ease of disassembly. The design is intentionally laid out for fast maintenance even in less-than-ideal conditions.
