Description

The Jericho 941 has been around since 1990, and the reason it keeps showing up is pretty simple: it works. IWI's Enhanced version takes that proven CZ-75-based DA/SA platform and modernizes it with a polymer frame, a cleaner ergonomic profile, and a handful of thoughtful upgrades that make the gun more practical to live with every day.

The frame is the biggest departure from older Jericho models. Gone are the finger grooves, replaced by a smooth frontstrap with three interchangeable backstraps so you can dial in the fit to your hand. The polymer construction drops the weight noticeably compared to the all-steel variants, landing at 25.6 ounces unloaded, while the serrated steel slide and cold hammer-forged CrMoV barrel keep the durability where it needs to be. The barrel uses button rifling with a black nitride finish, which holds up well over time and makes cleaning straightforward.

The DA/SA trigger setup gives you real flexibility in how you carry and run the gun. The frame-mounted manual thumb safety allows condition-one carry, cocked and locked, much like a 1911. Pull the safety off and you're shooting single-action with a crisp, short-reset trigger. Prefer hammer-down carry? You can do that too. It's a genuinely versatile system for people who want options rather than a striker-fired-only approach. The Novak dovetail adjustable sights offer windage adjustment and are a step up from the basic fixed sights you'd find on a lot of pistols in this price range.

The Mil-STD 1913 Picatinny rail on the dust cover is full-size and ready for most compact weapon lights or lasers without any adapters. Whether you're running this as a nightstand gun or just want the option to add a light for range use, it's there and usable. The pistol also includes a firing pin block safety as an additional passive safety feature.

This is a solid pick for someone who appreciates a traditional hammer-fired DA/SA pistol with real-world pedigree, wants more grip customization than most polymer guns offer, and doesn't want to pay full custom-shop prices to get a gun that shoots this well out of the box. Two 16-round magazines are included.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Jericho 941 Enhanced and the standard Jericho 941?

The Enhanced line introduced several meaningful updates over earlier Jericho models. The frame drops the older finger groove design in favor of a smooth frontstrap with three interchangeable backstraps, giving you a more customizable fit. IWI also updated the hammer profile, trigger profile, and thumb safety lever, and added Novak-style adjustable dovetail sights in place of the original fixed sights. The Picatinny accessory rail also comes standard on all Enhanced models.

Is the Jericho 941 Enhanced compatible with CZ-75 magazines?

The Jericho 941 Enhanced uses magazines made by Mec-Gar, the same company that produces magazines for CZ. Many CZ-75 small-frame magazines will physically fit and function, though results can vary by specific magazine model — some may require more force to seat or may not lock the slide back reliably. The factory IWI-branded Mec-Gar magazines are the most reliable choice and are reasonably priced.

How does the DA/SA trigger work on the Jericho 941, and can it be carried cocked and locked?

Yes, and that's actually one of the more appealing things about this pistol. The frame-mounted thumb safety allows you to carry it cocked and locked with a round chambered, much like a 1911, for a fast single-action first shot. Alternatively, you can carry it with the hammer down and fire in double-action for the first shot, then single-action for follow-ups. There is no decocker on this model, so if you want to lower the hammer manually, do so with care and proper technique.

How does the polymer-frame Jericho 941 Enhanced compare to the steel-frame version?

The steel-frame Jericho 941 is noticeably heavier, which helps soak up recoil but makes it less practical for extended carry. The Enhanced polymer-frame version cuts the weight to 25.6 ounces, which is a meaningful difference, while still pairing with a steel slide and steel barrel for durability. You give up a bit of that steel-gun heft, but you gain a more carry-friendly pistol that still shoots very flat and accurate for a mid-size 9mm.

What kind of weapon light can I mount on the Jericho 941 Enhanced?

The Jericho 941 Enhanced has a full-length Mil-STD 1913 Picatinny rail on the dust cover, which is compatible with most compact pistol lights and lasers that use a standard Picatinny mount. Popular options from brands like Streamlight, SureFire, and Olight will generally fit without issue. Just verify the specific light's minimum rail length requirement before purchasing.

Is the Jericho 941 Enhanced a good option for home defense or range use?

It's a strong option for both. The 16+1 capacity in 9mm, reliable DA/SA operation, and accessory rail make it well-suited for a home defense role, and the Novak adjustable sights and smooth single-action trigger make it genuinely enjoyable at the range. It's on the larger side for everyday concealed carry, but plenty of people carry mid-size pistols like this without issue depending on their build and carry setup.
