The device measures 2.96 inches long and adds 2.34 inches to the barrel, which takes a 13.7 inch barrel with 0.6 inch threads out to 16 inches overall. It also works on 13.9 inch barrels, landing you at 16.2 inches. HUXWRX pre-drills the device to make the pin and weld process quick and painless for your gunsmith, which is a small detail that saves real time and hassle on the bench.
When you are running unsuppressed, the prong design does a solid job knocking down visible flash on .223 and 5.56 loads, keeping your sight picture cleaner in low light. But the real draw here is the external QD interface. This mount is compatible with the full HX-QD series, including the 556k, 556, 762, 762 Ti, and Magnum Ti, plus FLOW series cans like the 556k, 6k, and 762 Ti. If you shoot a VENTUM series suppressor, you can still run this device by adding the HUX HUB-Adapter. One thing worth knowing: smaller caliber mounts work with larger caliber suppressors, but not the other way around, so this 5.56 mount plays nicely with 7.62 cans too.
