The Blacktail earns its keep by staying out of the way. It's a thin stretch polyester touch glove built for the days when you want your hands covered but still need to feel what you're doing, whether that's nocking an arrow, working a call, or settling in behind a rifle. The Realtree APX pattern keeps you tucked into the background, and the low-profile build means you can leave them on when the moment comes instead of scrambling to peel them off.
Hot Shot went with a single-seam construction here, running one seam across the back of the hand so the glove conforms and fits close without a bunch of bulky stitching digging into your skin. Overlocked edges keep things clean at the cuff, and the polyester-spandex blend gives it enough stretch to hug your hand no matter how you flex. A silicone grip print helps you hang onto your bow, gun, or gear when your palms would otherwise slide.
The fingertips are built with Pro-Text touch technology, so you can pull up a mapping app, check the weather, or snap a photo of your buck without baring your skin to the cold. That's a small thing until you're deep in the timber and don't feel like taking a glove off just to answer a text or drop a pin.
On its own, the Blacktail takes the edge off cool mornings and shoulder-season hunts. When temps really dip, it doubles as a liner under a heavier glove like the Hot Shot Defender for added warmth without killing your dexterity. That versatility is what makes it a solid one to keep in the pack year-round, since it pulls double duty as both a standalone and a base layer. This listing is for the Medium in Realtree APX.
Yes, the fingertips use Pro-Text touch technology so you can use your phone, GPS, or camera without pulling them off. That's handy for dropping pins, checking the forecast, or grabbing a quick photo in the field. It works on the thumb and index finger where you need it most.
The Blacktail is an ultra-lightweight, unlined glove, so it shines in cool and mild conditions rather than deep cold. When temps drop hard, it's designed to slip under a heavier glove like the Hot Shot Defender as a liner. That layering setup keeps your hands warm while holding onto solid dexterity.
They do. A silicone grip print helps you hold onto your bow, firearm, or gear when things get slick. It's not a full palm coating, so if you want heavy rubberized grip across every finger you may want a beefier glove.
The stretch polyester and spandex blend gives them a close, second-skin feel, and most buyers find them true to size. The single-seam construction lets the glove conform to your hand without bulky stitching. If you're between sizes and plan to layer them under another glove, going true to size usually works fine.
