Description

Horizon Firearms has built its name on custom-grade bolt guns out of Bryan, Texas, and the Vandal DM (Dedicated Marksman) marks the company's first step into full chassis rifles. Instead of a traditional stock, this one drops a premium steel barreled action into a black anodized XLR Element 4.0 aluminum chassis, giving you the rigidity and repeatability that positional and match-style rifle work demands. The whole package wears a blacked-out look that matches how it shoots: all business.

What Sets the Vandal DM Apart

The 22 inch black chrome barrel features spiral fluting to shed weight and help manage heat over long strings of fire, and the muzzle comes threaded so you can run your preferred brake or suppressor from day one. Up top, the black chrome receiver carries a Picatinny rail, so mounting a scope is quick and there is no fussing with drilled and tapped bases. Underneath, the forend has an integrated ARCA rail, which means tripods, bipods, and barricade accessories clamp on anywhere along its length without adapters. That is a feature you would normally add to a rifle later. Here it is baked in.

Why 7mm PRC in a Chassis Rifle Makes Sense

The 7mm PRC chambering is a smart match for this platform. It was purpose-built for heavy, high BC 7mm bullets, so it holds energy and bucks wind at distances where smaller cartridges start to fade. Out of a 22 inch tube it still delivers plenty of velocity for steel well past 1,000 yards, and it doubles nicely as a big game cartridge if you want one rifle that can compete on the weekend and hunt in the fall.

Who the Horizon Vandal DM Is Built For

Horizon pitches the Vandal DM at folks moving into precision competition, and that tracks. The aluminum chassis gives you a stable, consistent platform without the tinkering a bedded stock can require, and the rail setup means your accessories bolt right up. If you have been eyeing the chassis rifle world, this is a clean way in from a maker known for accuracy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Horizon Vandal DM come with a scope or sights?

No, it ships without any sights or optics. The black chrome receiver comes with a Picatinny rail already installed, so you can mount your preferred scope rings and glass right out of the box without needing bases or gunsmith work.

Can I run a suppressor or muzzle brake on the Vandal DM?

Yes. The 22 inch spiral fluted barrel comes with a threaded muzzle, so it is set up to accept a brake or suppressor. With a magnum cartridge like 7mm PRC, a good brake goes a long way toward taming recoil during long range sessions, and check the thread pitch on your device against the barrel before ordering a mount.

What is the ARCA rail on the forend used for?

The ARCA rail lets you clamp bipods, tripod heads, and barricade accessories directly to the forend anywhere along its length, no adapters needed. It has become the standard attachment system in precision rifle matches because you can reposition gear in seconds. Having it machined into the XLR Element 4.0 chassis means one less upgrade to buy later.

Is the Vandal DM only for competition, or can it work as a hunting rifle?

It is built with precision competition in mind, but the 7mm PRC chambering makes it a legitimate crossover rifle. The cartridge drives heavy, high BC bullets with plenty of energy for elk, mule deer, and other big game at extended distances. The aluminum chassis adds some heft compared to a carbon fiber hunting rig, which is a fair trade for the stability it brings behind the trigger.
