Hoppe's built the UO around the same No. 9 bore cleaner that's been in gun cabinets since 1903, and they paired it with just enough hardware to handle both rifles and shotguns without cluttering up your bench. Inside you get a 2 oz bottle of Hoppe's No. 9 Gun Bore Cleaner and a 2.25 oz bottle of Hoppe's Traditional Lubricating Oil. The No. 9 is the workhorse here, cutting through carbon, powder, lead, and metal fouling to loosen up the gunk that builds in a bore after a range session. The lubricating oil handles the other half of the job, coating moving parts and giving your metal a layer of rust protection when the gun goes back in the safe.

What Comes with the Hoppe's UO Cleaning Kit

The three-piece aluminum rod threads together with a T-handle and a ball-bearing swivel, so the tip can follow the rifling as you push it through instead of fighting it. You also get three slotted tips, a shotgun adapter for bumping up to gauge-sized bores, and a supply of round die-cut cotton patches for soaking up solvent and wiping the bore clean. It all tucks back into the plastic storage box, which keeps the small parts from wandering off between cleanings.
