The Hogue OverMolded grip in purple is built from durable synthetic rubber that actually feels good in your hand without being spongy or tacky. It delivers that sweet spot between soft and firm, absorbing recoil while keeping you locked in behind the rifle. Real shooting conditions matter, and this grip handles them. The Cobblestone texture gives you traction in wet hands, gloves, or cold weather without the irritation that comes from aggressive checkering.
The finger grooves are thoughtfully placed to position your fingers where they naturally want to go, which improves your grip index and makes follow-up shots more controlled. The gentle palm swells cradle your hand without forcing an artificial grip angle. A reinforcing insert runs through the grip, directly engaging your lower receiver for a rock-solid, no-wobble fit that stays consistent through hundreds of rounds.
The thermoplastic elastomer construction means this grip ages gracefully. It won't crack, harden, or lose its feel over years of use. It's resistant to oils, solvents, and the general wear that trashes lesser grips. You get reliability in a package that weighs just 2.4 ounces and won't hang around taking up real estate on your rifle.
This grip uses your factory AR screw and fits AR-15 and M16 platforms with precision. Installation takes minutes with nothing more than a hex key. Since Hogue engineered this for exact fitment, you won't deal with the gaps or overlap that plague lower-quality replacements. Some shooters report needing to trim the trigger guard filler if their lower has no gap, but that's straightforward with a utility knife.
No, this grip uses your factory AR-15 lower screw and does not include a replacement. Most shooters have this screw on hand, but if you need one, any standard AR grip screw will work. The factory screw typically fits fine, though some may need minor trimming depending on your lower receiver.
Unlike sharp checkering, the Cobblestone pattern is designed specifically to avoid irritation while still providing excellent traction. The texture feels tactile and grippy but isn't abrasive. Most users find it works well even during extended range sessions.
The Hogue OverMolded is a major step up from factory grips. The rubber absorbs recoil impact more effectively, the finger grooves improve your hand position, and the overall ergonomics make the rifle feel more controllable. In wet conditions or with gloves, the difference is especially noticeable.
This grip is designed specifically for AR-15 and M16 platform rifles and works with standard right-hand safeties. It fits the standard grip tang on those platforms, so yes, it'll work on M4 carbines and other AR variants that use the same lower receiver design.
