Hi-Viz took a different swing at the whole iron sight versus red dot debate with the FASTDOT H3, and the result is genuinely clever. Instead of the usual notch-and-post you grew up on, this set uses a circle-within-a-circle system. The front sight glows red from a fiber-optic and tritium rod, while the rear is a single green tritium tube mounted dead center. When your gun is lined up correctly, the red front dot tucks behind the green rear tube and disappears, leaving you one bright green circle to aim with. If you see red peeking out on any side, you know you're off. Simple as that.
Speed is the whole point here. Rather than hunting for a front post and centering it in a rear notch, your eye only has to find one thing: a single dot. That's a lot like running a pistol red dot, but without a battery to die on you or an optic riding high on your slide. Folks new to handguns tend to pick it up quick since there's nothing to unlearn, and experienced hands used to traditional irons usually just need a little range time to trust the system. The trick is bringing the gun up to eye level and letting the dots fall into place instead of squinting things into perfect alignment.

There can be a short adjustment period if you're used to a standard three-dot or notch-and-post setup, since your brain has to get comfortable with the single-dot alignment.
