The Harris S-25CP is the tall dog of the Harris bipod family. It clamps directly to a Picatinny rail with no sling stud adapter needed, and the legs stretch from 13.5 all the way up to 27 inches. That extra height makes it a favorite for shooting from a seated or crouched position, and it earns its keep when you're working through snow, tall grass, or brush that a shorter bipod would disappear into. Taller users who find standard prone bipods too cramped tend to gravitate toward this one too.
The swivel base is the star here. It tilts side to side so you can level your rifle on a sloped hillside or rough ground without fighting the legs to get there. There's a knurled tension nut on the back of the base that dials in how much resistance the swivel has, so you can set it loose for quick canting or snug it down to hold position between shots. Plenty of longtime Harris users add an aftermarket lever to that nut for even faster on-the-fly adjustments, but the factory setup handles the job.
This is a three-piece smooth-leg design. The legs are spring loaded, so they kick out and stay put in both the open and folded positions, and thumb screws lock each leg at the height you want. When you're done, they fold forward toward the muzzle and stow out of the way. The body and legs are heat-treated steel and hard alloys, the leg caps are hard rubber for grip and durability, and the tensioning knob is high-strength polymer with a steel insert.
Even though it locks onto a rail, the S-25CP keeps a built-in sling swivel stud so you can still run your sling the way you always have. No, this specific model is built to clamp directly onto a Picatinny rail only. If your setup runs a traditional sling swivel stud, you'd want a stud-mount Harris model instead. The good news is the S-25CP still includes a built-in sling swivel stud so you can keep running your sling.
It can be run near its lowest setting for prone, and taller shooters often find that comfortable. That said, the S-25CP is really built to shine from seated or crouched positions and in tall grass, brush, or snow. If most of your shooting is flat prone off a bench, a shorter Harris model may suit you better.
