GrovTec built these 1.25" locking swivels for folks who don't want to think twice about their sling coming loose. They come as a matched pair, machined from all-steel and given a black-oxide finish that keeps them low-key and rust-resistant. The 1.25-inch loop is one of the most common sling widths out there, so they'll pair up with USGI-style webbing, hunting slings, and just about anything cut to that size.
The real story here is the locking design. Instead of relying on a bare spring plunger that can pop open if it gets bumped, these use multiple locking points backed by an ergonomic steel thumbscrew. You depress the plunger, seat the swivel onto the stud, then snug the thumbscrew down to hold everything in place. The freespin sleeve lets the sling rotate naturally while the lock stays put, and it's easy to work even with gloves on or in low light.
GrovTec holds tight machining tolerances on these, which means a snug, rattle-free connection that stays quiet in the field. That matters when you're still-hunting or trying not to spook game with a jingling sling. They drop onto any standard swivel stud, so most bolt guns, lever actions, and other rifles set up with factory studs are a straight install.
GrovTec is an Oregon-based outfit, and these swivels are made in America. Owners consistently point to the build quality and the confidence of running steel hardware over cheaper imports when there's a scoped rifle hanging off it. For a small part that carries a lot of responsibility, it's a sensible piece to trust. Swap out a tired set of factory swivels and you'll notice the difference the first time you sling up.
They're built for 1.25-inch (1-1/4") wide slings, one of the most common sling widths around. That covers USGI-style webbing along with plenty of hunting and range slings cut to that size. If your sling measures 1 inch, you'd want GrovTec's 1" version instead.
You depress the spring plunger, seat the swivel post into your standard swivel stud, then tighten the ergonomic steel thumbscrew to lock it down. The multiple locking points and thumbscrew work together so the swivel won't pop open if the plunger gets bumped. Always make sure it's fully seated and locked before you trust it with the rifle.
Yes, the GTSW02 swivels are designed to fit any standard swivel stud, which covers most bolt actions, lever guns, and other rifles set up from the factory with studs. If your gun uses push-button QD cups instead of standard studs, you'd need a different swivel style or an adaptor.
They are. GrovTec is an Oregon-based company and these swivels are manufactured in America from all-steel construction. Owners often mention choosing them for that reason over cheaper imported hardware, especially when there's a scoped rifle on the line.
