The GrovTec GTHM289 Heavy Duty Push Button Bases give you a permanent, low-profile home for your GT push button swivels on just about any wood or synthetic stock. They are machined from stainless steel and coated in a non-glare black oxide, so once they are seated they sit flush and out of the way with no snag point when the swivel is popped out. You get a matched pair in the box, which covers both your front and rear attachment points, or lets you add a base where there wasn't one before.
These are the full-rotation, threaded version of GrovTec's base lineup, meaning the swivel spins freely for full freedom of movement. That is the setup most hunters and range shooters want since the sling can twist and settle naturally against your body instead of fighting you. GrovTec also builds these to tight tolerances, and the stainless construction gives them the strength to hold up under real load. These do take a little bench work, so plan on it. GrovTec's instructions call for drilling a 1/2 inch (or 33/64 inch) hole 9/16 to 5/8 inch deep, then tapping it with a 9/16-18 UNF bottom tap and threading the base in. A dab of two-part epoxy like JB Weld on the threads is recommended, especially on lightweight-fill synthetic stocks where a little extra anchor goes a long way. GrovTec also sells a dedicated GTHM262 installation tool that makes controlling seating depth much easier if you want to get it perfectly flush.
Once they are in, swapping slings is as simple as it gets: press the button, pull the swivel, and go. For anyone building out a custom rifle or upgrading a factory stock to a proper quick-detach setup, these are a clean, trustworthy foundation.
