The Grip Pod GPS-V2 solves a problem every AR builder runs into eventually: you want the control of a vertical foregrip and the stability of a bipod, but bolting on both eats up rail space fast. This unit does both jobs in one piece. It rides as a chunky, hand-filling vertical grip until you need support, then a push of the button sends a pair of spring-loaded, steel-reinforced polymer legs snapping out the bottom for a stable shooting platform. When you're done, you fold them back up into the body and keep moving. No clipping bipods on and off, no fumbling in the prone.
This is Grip Pod's enhanced line, and the updates are the kind you feel in your hand. The V2 gets a reworked ergonomic grip with a slimmer contour, so it takes up less real estate and points more naturally, plus improved texturing that holds up when your hands are wet or sweaty. The legs are polymer over a steel core, giving you the strength to lean into it without the weight penalty of a traditional metal bipod. The original Grip Pod System is the automatic forward-grip bipod that earned adoption across the U.S. military and law enforcement, so the pedigree here is real.
The button sits up near the top front of the grip, right under your support-hand index finger, and it takes a deliberate press so it won't pop open when you brush against gear or brush. The legs spring out with real authority and lock into a wide stance, with enough height to clear a standard 30-round magazine from the ground when you're prone. It mounts to any MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail with a steel cross-bolt and an easy-grip thumbscrew, so you can install or pull it without tools.
Like any spring-driven mechanism, it appreciates a little care. Users who have run these hard in dusty conditions recommend periodic disassembly and a wipe-down so the legs deploy fully every time. Do that, and it'll keep snapping open shot after shot.
