The Grip Pod GPS V2 does two jobs at once. Most of the time it rides as a comfortable vertical foregrip that gives you real control over the front end of your rifle. When you need to settle in for a supported shot, you hit the release button and a spring drops the legs into place instantly. It clamps to any MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail using a steel cross-bolt and easy-grip thumbscrew, so it locks down tight and stays put.
This is the aluminum-leg version, the model Grip Pod refers to as the SAW-style build. The forged aluminum legs carry a mil-spec hard coat finish and are rated to support well over 300 pounds, which puts it a step above the standard polymer and steel-reinforced options when you want the strongest legs in the lineup. The grip body itself is tough injection-molded polymer, so you get durability up top and serious strength where the legs meet the ground.
The V2 update is all about the hand. Grip Pod reshaped the handle for a more natural, ergonomic fit and added textured gripping panels to both sides along with the familiar ribbing front and back. The transition from the mounting block down to the grip was tapered so your hand settles in cleaner. They also redesigned the internal components to boost leg strength at the moment of deployment, which is the part that takes the abuse.
The legs run from just under six inches retracted to around eight-plus inches extended, giving a standard 30-round magazine plenty of ground clearance in the prone. The deployment button sits right where your thumb rides but stays flush with the surface to keep it from popping open by accident. When the legs are stowed, they tuck in clean and won't snag on brush, gear, or a vehicle interior. It fits AR-15, M4, M16, and AR-308 pattern rifles, and you can add a single or double light rail if you want to run a light or laser off the same mounting point.
You press the large grooved release button near the thumb and a spring drops the legs into position instantly. The button sits flush with the surface so it won't deploy by accident while you're gripping the rifle. To stow it, just fold the legs back up until they lock into the grip body.
