Description
The AmeriGlo GL5301 i-Dot set trades the traditional three-dot layout for something a lot quicker to read under pressure. Instead of balancing two rear dots against a front dot, you get a single green tritium dot in the rear notch that stacks directly under the green tritium front. Line up the two dots vertically and you're on target. It's a design a lot of folks find more natural, especially when your eye wants to lock onto the front sight and everything else turns into clutter.
The front sight is where the daytime magic happens. That green tritium lamp is wrapped in a LumiGreen outline that grabs your eye in bright light and daylight transitions, then the tritium takes over once the sun goes down. Both the front and rear carry sealed tritium vials that glow on their own with no batteries or charging, and green tritium typically stays usefully bright for somewhere around ten to twelve years before it starts to fade.
Why the i-Dot Sight Picture Works
The rear sight runs a bit longer than a standard Glock rear, which bumps up your sight radius, and the back face has an undercut that cuts glare so you're not fighting reflections off the top of the slide. The notch is squared off and clean, which keeps the front post crisp inside it. AmeriGlo builds these from CNC-machined steel with a matte black finish, so they hold up to holster wear and daily carry the way a duty sight should.
Fitment Notes for the GL5301
This set is cut for Glock Gen5 models, covering the 17, 19, 19X, 26, 34, and 45. It does not work with the MOS optics-ready slides or with Gen1 through Gen4 pistols, so double-check your generation before ordering. Pistol sights like these press in with proper tooling, so plan on a sight pusher or a trip to a gunsmith rather than a punch and a hammer if you want them seated square and true.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is the i-Dot different from regular three-dot sights?
The i-Dot uses a single rear tritium dot that sits directly below the front dot, so you align two dots stacked vertically instead of three spread across a horizontal line. Under stress your eye naturally locks onto the front sight, and the i-Dot layout removes the extra rear dots that can become visual clutter. Many people find it faster and less busy, and it's a favorite for anyone who struggles lining up traditional three-dot sights.
Will the GL5301 fit my Glock?
This set is made for Glock Gen5 pistols, including the 17, 19, 19X, 26, 34, and 45. It does not fit the MOS optics-ready slides, and it won't work on Gen1 through Gen4 models. Check your generation and confirm you don't have an MOS slide before ordering.
Do these sights need batteries to glow at night?
No batteries and no charging required. Both the front and rear carry sealed tritium vials that glow on their own from the isotope inside, so they're always ready in total darkness. Green tritium generally stays usefully bright for around ten to twelve years before it slowly dims.
Can I install the i-Dot sights myself?
You can if you have the right gear. Pistol sights are a press fit and really want a proper sight pusher tool to seat them square without damaging the sight or the slide. If you don't have a pusher, a gunsmith can knock the install out quickly and make sure everything lines up straight.
