The standard 43X earned its spot as one of the best-selling carry guns around by splitting the difference between a subcompact slide and a compact grip. This version takes that proven formula and adds the two things builders kept asking for: a threaded barrel and an MOS optic-ready slide. It is a US-built configuration, assembled with a serialized Glock barrel, so you are getting a factory package rather than a pieced-together custom job.
The threaded muzzle opens the door to compensators, thread protectors, and suppressors without swapping out the factory tube. Up top, the slide is milled for micro red dots through Glock's Modular Optic System, with front and rear serrations so you can rack it from either end with a dot mounted. The frame carries a built-in accessory rail for a compact light or laser, and the reversible mag catch keeps things friendly for left-handed use. Keep in mind the MOS system uses adapter plates that are sold separately, so plan on picking up the correct plate for whatever optic you run.
At its core this is still the slim, lightweight 9mm that disappears under a t-shirt. No, the MOS system uses adapter plates that are sold separately. The slide is milled to accept popular micro red dots like the Holosun 507K and Shield RMSc footprint optics, but you will need the correct plate or a direct-mount solution for your specific sight. Some optics in the RMSc footprint can mount directly to the MOS cut without a plate.
The barrel is threaded in the common 1/2×28 pitch used by most 9mm muzzle devices, so it will accept the majority of 9mm suppressors, compensators, and thread protectors. Just make sure any comp you choose is sized for the slim Glock 43/43X/48 slide width, since full-size Glock compensators are wider and will not sit flush.
This is a factory-built configuration. The U prefix in the part number indicates US production, and these ship with a serialized Glock barrel rather than an aftermarket swap. You get the same fit, finish, and reliability you would expect from any Glock coming out of the box.
From the factory it ships with two 10-round magazines, which is the standard capacity for the slim single-stack-width magwell. The aftermarket offers higher capacity options, with Shield Arms making flush-fit 15-round steel magazines that are popular with 43X owners. Those typically pair best with a metal mag catch, which is sold separately.
