Description
The Beretta 1301 Tactical is one of the best-running defensive shotguns out there, but the factory forend leaves a lot of folks wanting more grip and more room to mount gear. GG&G took the widely loved Magpul Zhukov handguard, which started life on the AK47/74, and reworked it specifically for the 1301. The result is a slim, aggressive forend with real accessory capability and a look that ties the whole gun together.
What Makes the 1301 Zhukov Handguard Different
GG&G machined a custom aluminum front adapter, or nose cone, that's contoured to flow with the lines of the 1301 instead of looking bolted on. That adapter carries a small steel spring plunger (Vlier) that keeps positive tension against the factory magazine cap or an aftermarket extension nut, so nothing walks loose under recoil. Just as important, there's a stainless steel heat shield tucked into the forward section to deflect hot gasses and slow the heat buildup you get running fast strings of buckshot or slugs. Fair warning, that shield sits over the forward bottom M-LOK slots, so plan your light placement a little further back.
Mounting Lights and Slings on the Zhukov Forend
The Zhukov body is Magpul's reinforced polymer with M-LOK slots running along the sides and bottom. That opens the door to weapon lights, QD sling points, and other M-LOK gear. GG&G's own GGG-1991 cantilever rail light mount and GGG-2945 QD sling attachment are made to pair with it, but any standard M-LOK accessory will work. The handguard weighs in around 8 ounces, so you keep the 1301's fast, lively handling.
Installing the FDE Zhukov on Your 1301
This is a no-gunsmithing job. It installs on Gen I, Gen II, Gen III, and Mod 2 model 1301 shotguns without any modification to the gun itself. If you're running M-LOK accessories, mount them before the handguard goes on and make sure the screws sit flush so nothing interferes with the action inside. The Flat Dark Earth finish pairs nicely with tan stocks and cerakoted builds if you're chasing a cohesive setup.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Beretta 1301 models does this Zhukov handguard fit?
It installs on Gen I, Gen II, Gen III, and Mod 2 model Beretta 1301 shotguns. Gen III guns need to be running the Gen III magazine tube. No modifications to the shotgun are required for the install.
Can I mount a light and sling on the Zhukov handguard?
Yes. The handguard has M-LOK slots along the sides and bottom, so you can add weapon lights, QD sling mounts, and other M-LOK accessories. Keep in mind the stainless heat shield covers the forward bottom slots, so plan your light position accordingly.
Does the GG&G Beretta 1301 Zhukov handguard have a heat shield?
It does. A stainless steel heat shield is built into the forward portion to deflect hot gasses and slow heat buildup during firing. That matters when you're running fast strings of buckshot or slugs and keeping your support hand out on the forend.
Is this the same as the black GG&G Zhukov handguard?
It's the same handguard, just in Flat Dark Earth instead of black. The FDE coloring pairs well with tan furniture and cerakoted builds if you want a matched setup. Function, fitment, and features are identical between the two color options.
