You can run shells base-up or base-down depending on your style.
This is where the GG&G design separates itself from cheaper alternatives. Most side saddles use hollow rubber tube retainers that compress and distort from heat and shell pressure over time, causing rounds to gradually work loose. GG&G went with a solid rubber retainer instead, precision-molded to a specific durometer rating so it holds its shape for years. The difference matters when you're counting on gear to work under pressure.
The entire build mounts solidly using two points on the receiver. Hardware passes through the trigger group pin hole, and a GG&G-supplied steel end plate mounts between the back of the receiver and stock. That's it. No permanent modifications, no dremel work, no guessing if you did it right. The non-marring backing plate protects your receiver's finish from scratches.
The saddle is CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and finished with Type III hard anodized black per military spec. Ergonomic lightning cuts reduce weight without compromise.
