This version has a fixed cylinder bore, which is safe for slugs, buckshot, and birdshot alike. Cylinder bore is the standard choice for defensive shotguns since there is no constriction at the muzzle. Note that some other GF2P configurations use a fixed modified choke that is not slug rated, so double check if you own a different variant.
The magazine tube holds 5 rounds on its own and 7 with the extension, which comes installed on this model, giving you 7+1 in the gun. Between the 5-shell stock carrier and the 3-shell receiver holder, you can carry 16 rounds of 12 gauge on the shotgun itself.
Yes, the 3 inch chamber runs both lengths without any adjustment. That lets you train with inexpensive 2.75 inch target loads and switch to heavier 2.75 or 3 inch defensive or hunting loads when needed. Keep in mind that magazine capacity can drop slightly when running longer shells.
The forend rail makes adding a compact weapon light quick and simple, and the gun is set up for sling attachment as well. A light is a smart addition on any home defense shotgun since identifying what you are pointing at matters. Most common shotgun lights and two-point slings will work without any gunsmithing.
