Owning a .45 caliber can and an MP5 style 9mm host is one of the better problems to have, and this mount is how you bring the two together. The Gemtech 3-Lug Female QD Mount threads into the rear of the Lunar-45, GM-45, and older Trinity suppressors, converting them from a thread-on setup to a quick-disconnect 3-lug attachment. Since those cans have a .45 caliber bore, running 9mm through them is no issue at all, and the extra bore diameter still leaves you with solid sound performance on a subgun host.
The 3-lug system is the classic HK MP5 attachment method for a reason. Press the suppressor on, give it a twist, and it locks up tight with no threads to index and no waiting. When you are done, it comes off just as fast, even with a hot can. If you shoot an MP5, SP5, or one of the many MP5 clones out there, this is by far the most convenient way to hang a suppressor on it. It also works with any other barrel you have set up with one of Gemtech's male 9mm 3-lug adapters, so pistol caliber carbines and threaded handgun barrels can join the party too.
Setup is simple. Remove the existing rear mount or piston assembly from your suppressor, thread this mount into the back of the can, and you are ready to click onto any 9mm 3-lug barrel. Swapping back to your original mount later takes only a few minutes, so you are not locked into one configuration. Gemtech builds this piece to the same standard as the suppressors it pairs with, so lockup stays consistent and repeatable through plenty of mounting cycles.

This mount is made for the Gemtech Lunar-45, GM-45, and older Trinity suppressors. It threads into the rear of the can in place of the standard mount or piston assembly. It is not the correct part for the Lunar-9 or GM-9, which use a separate 9mm-specific 3-lug mount.
Yes, that is exactly what it is designed for. The Lunar-45 and GM-45 have a .45 caliber bore, so 9mm passes through with plenty of clearance. You give up a little suppression compared to a dedicated 9mm can, but performance on an MP5-pattern host is still very good.
It works with the standard 9mm HK-pattern 3-lug interface, which includes the MP5, SP5, and most MP5 clones. It also attaches to any barrel fitted with a Gemtech male 9mm 3-lug adapter, so you can set up pistol caliber carbines and threaded pistols to accept it too.
Not at all. Unthread the existing rear mount from your suppressor, thread this one in, and you are done. It swaps back just as easily if you want to return the can to its original direct-thread or piston configuration.
