Description

When Bill Geissele brought the same engineering obsession that made his triggers famous over to optic mounts, this is what came out of it. The Super Precision T1 was built specifically for the Aimpoint Micro family and the long list of red dots that share that footprint, giving you a mount that feels like it was overbuilt on purpose. It sits at a lower 1/3 co-witness height, so your irons show up in the bottom third of the glass and stay out of the way while you run the dot.

What Sets the Super Precision T1 Mount Apart

This mount is CNC machined from a single piece of 7075-T6 high strength aluminum and wears a Type 3 hardcoat anodized finish in matte black. The real story is how it clamps. Geissele reworked the classic nut and bolt method to deliver 1,400 pounds of clamping force to your Picatinny rail, backed up by three shear lugs that handle recoil and keep everything from walking under sustained fire. That triple lug setup is also why it earns a reputation for returning to zero after you pull it off and put it back on.

Fit and Co-Witness Height on the T1 Mount

It's cut to accept Aimpoint Micro T1, T2, H1, H2, and the CompM5, plus plenty of same-footprint optics like the Holosun 503/515/530 series, SIG Romeo 4 and 5, and Vortex micro dots. The lower 1/3 height is the one most folks reach for, since it clears your backup irons while still letting you reference them if the battery ever quits on you. Co-witness means you can still get rounds on target with your iron sights looking right through the window of the optic.

Why This Geissele Micro Mount Holds Up

Shooters who've run it tend to describe it the same way, built like a tank and dead simple to install on the rail. It feels solid the second it clamps down, and it's light enough that it doesn't throw off the balance of a carbine. If you've been running a flimsy factory mount that came bundled with your red dot, stepping up to this one is a noticeable difference in how planted your optic feels.

Frequently Asked Questions

What optics fit the Geissele Super Precision T1 mount?

This mount uses the Aimpoint Micro footprint, so it fits the T1, T2, H1, H2, and CompM5. It also works with the many same-pattern red dots out there, including the Holosun 503/515/530 series, SIG Romeo 4 and 5, and Vortex micro dots. If your optic uses the standard T1 footprint, it'll bolt right up.

What does lower 1/3 co-witness mean on this mount?

Lower 1/3 co-witness places your red dot slightly higher over the bore, so your backup iron sights appear in the bottom third of the optic window instead of dead center. That keeps your irons out of the way during normal use while still giving you a reference if the dot ever goes dark. Many people prefer this height because it offers a cleaner sight picture through the glass.

Does the Geissele T1 mount hold zero if I take it off and put it back on?

That's one of its strong points. The triple shear lug design and 1,400 pounds of clamping force are specifically engineered for reliable return to zero after you remove and reinstall it. It's not a quick-detach mount, but it clamps down hard enough that reputation for holding zero is well earned.

Is this mount hard to install on a Picatinny rail?

Not at all. It uses Geissele's updated nut and bolt clamping method and goes onto any Picatinny rail with basic hand tools. Geissele also includes thorough instructions, though plenty of users find it straightforward enough that they barely need them.
