The MK14 is one of the sleekest handguards in Geissele's Super Modular Rail lineup, built for folks who want a lower-profile AR-15 without stepping down in quality. At 9.3 inches, this length works great on shorter carbine and pistol builds where you want a slim grip and enough real estate for a light and a hand stop. Geissele reworked the design to bring down both the outer diameter and overall height, so the handguard feels noticeably thinner in the hand than a lot of the bulkier rails out there. The secret to any good free-float rail is the barrel nut, and Geissele's extended 2.25-inch nut is a big reason these rails have the reputation they do. That long surface contact against the receiver gives the rail a solid, repeatable platform that stays true the full length of the tube. It will. The slim inner diameter is designed to clear most standard low-profile gas blocks, including both clamp-on and set-screw styles. Just double check the height of any adjustable gas block before ordering to make sure it tucks under cleanly.
