The GBRS Group Second Best Sling, or SBS, was built for folks who want a sling that carries the rifle comfortably without a bunch of dead weight and clanging metal. GBRS pulled out the bulky hardware most slings rely on and got the whole thing down to 2.7 oz, which is roughly half of what a lot of padded slings weigh. The result is a stripped-down setup that still handles a heavy carbine all day without digging into your neck. This bundle version takes the guesswork out of piecing parts together by including the swivels and adapter you need to mount it and run it your way.
The SBS features a long forward lead with 40 inches of travel plus a 20-inch adjustable tail, and both ends can be trimmed down to dial in the fit for your body and your rig. Adjustment happens through a single Tri-Glide and a four-inch pull tab that is easy to grab on the move. If you would rather run a thumb loop, the pull tab has two center bar tacks that can be removed to convert it over. That kind of tailoring is a big part of why people who have run slings from other brands for years end up switching.
The 16-inch minimalist neck pad uses closed cell crosslink padding, wrapped in a four-way stretch Tweave that slides smooth across your neck or over the back of your kit. Tapers at both ends of the pad cut down on snag points when you sling the carbine around to your back. It stays comfortable without turning stiff or bulky, which is the balance a lot of slings miss.
Alongside the sling you get two GrovTec D-Loop heavy duty push button QD swivels, each pull tested to 450 lbs, and a 2-to-1 point Triglide QD convertible adapter from Impact Weapons Components. That adapter lets you flip between a stable two-point carry and a nimble one-point setup on the fly. Made in the USA and finished in coyote brown, this bundle is ready to mount and go.
