Anybody who has run an AR-10 pattern rifle suppressed knows the deal: gas comes back through the charging handle and right into your eyes. The Precision Reflex Gas Buster Combat Latch 308AR was built to deal with exactly that. It uses an extra-thick handle with a machined gas deflection groove that pushes blowback, oil, and carbon away from your face instead of letting it wash straight back at you. If you shoot a can on your .308 and you're tired of eating fumes, this is the part that fixes it.

What Sets the Gas Buster 308AR Apart

Beyond the gas handling, this is a burlier charging handle than what came in your rifle. Precision Reflex machines the body from 7075-T6 aluminum with extra material at the stress points, so it holds up to hard charging and stubborn extractions without twisting or flexing. The finish is a matte black hardcoat anodize that shrugs off wear. One piece that people tend to overlook: the latch itself is steel, not aluminum, so the part doing the actual work under pressure is the part least likely to let you down.

Running the Combat Latch

The Combat Latch is the oversized option in the lineup, with a large grooved surface and deep serrations that give you a solid grip with gloves, wet hands, or in the cold. The extended finger latch also makes clearing a jam quicker since you have more leverage to work with. It's a favorite for duty-style and range rifles where you want a positive, no-slip pull every single time.

This version is cut for the standard .308 pattern and fits ArmaLite AR-10, Knight's Armament SR-25, and DPMS LR-308 uppers. It ships as a complete assembly, so there's nothing to build. Note that it is not made for Rock River .308 uppers or DPMS Gen II receivers, which use a different profile, so check your upper before ordering.
