The Precision Reflex Gas Buster is one of those parts that earns its keep the first time you shoot a direct impingement AR with a can on it. Instead of letting excess gas, oil, and carbon come straight back into your face, the special deflection groove routes that mess off to the side and keeps it out of your eyes and glasses. It also gives you a little insurance in the rare event of a blown case or failed primer, sending that pressure somewhere other than your face.

What the M84 Gas Buster Does Differently

This is a complete drop-in assembly, so there's no fussing with parts. It's built from 7075 T6 aluminum with extra material at the stress points, so it holds up to hard charging and repeated use without twisting or flexing. The matte black hardcoat anodized finish shrugs off wear, and the latch itself is steel, which matters because the latch is the one small piece you never want failing on you mid-string. Why the Combat Latch Is Worth Grabbing

It runs about 17% larger than the standard military big latch with serrations across the front edge, so you can find it and rip the handle back fast, even with gloves on or an optic mounted low over the rear of the receiver. A couple things worth knowing before you order. The Gas Buster is designed for direct impingement AR-15/M16/M4 uppers, so if you're running a piston gun you won't see the same benefit.
