The DAO stands for Dual Action Outdoorsman, and this Galco holster earned that name by doing double duty. Wear it on your strongside hip or switch to crossdraw depending on your situation and what makes sense for your day. The versatility alone sets it apart, but the execution is what really matters.
Galco constructed the DAO182 from premium saddle leather that holds up to field work and daily use. The leather forms around your gun naturally with a bit of break-in time, and it just gets better the more you carry. This is the kind of holster that ages well and improves with time spent in the field. Made right here in the USA, you're getting genuine craftsmanship with real attention to detail.
The retention strap design keeps things simple but secure. The standout feature is the large polymer tab built into the strap, which lets you snap and unsnap with a gloved hand without fumbling. Whether you're running a hunt in cold weather or working through thick brush, you maintain full control. Tension screw adjustments let you dial in exactly how tight your gun sits, so the holster works perfectly whether you're breaking it in or have had it for years.
This holster shines in hunting camps, backcountry situations, and anywhere you need dependable revolver carry that's both accessible and secure. It fits belts up to 1 3/4 inches wide, and the belt loop attachment stays rock solid. Whether you're after deer, carrying for peace of mind in remote areas, or just need a quality holster that handles serious use, the DAO182 delivers without pretense or unnecessary features.
Yes, the DAO182 design allows you to switch between strongside carry and crossdraw positions at your discretion. This makes it versatile for different situations and personal preferences during field work or everyday carry.
Most leather holsters need a break-in period since leather is pliable and will mold to your firearm over time. With the DAO182's tension screw adjustments, you can control the fit as it settles in, and the holster will develop a custom fit to your specific gun.
The retention strap features a large polymer tab designed specifically for quick release even when wearing gloves. This keeps you from fumbling during cold weather carry or outdoor work where gloves are necessary.
The DAO182 fits belts up to 1 3/4 inches wide, which covers most standard gun belts. The belt loop attachment system keeps it secure and stable during daily carry or field work.
