The Galco Combat Master CM224B is old-school leather done right. This is an outside-the-waistband pancake holster cut from premium steerhide, hand-molded to hug the exact contours of your handgun. Galco has been making gunleather like this for decades, and the Combat Master line is one of their staples for people who want the classic look without giving up real carry performance.
The pancake design puts a belt slot on each side of the holster, so when you cinch your belt through them the gun pulls in flat and close against your body. Add the butt-forward cant and the high ride, and even a full-size Glock tucks away nicely under a light jacket or an untucked shirt. Printing stays minimal, which is exactly what you want out of an OWB rig meant for everyday concealed carry. The twin slots fit belts up to 1 3/4 inches wide, so it works with most gun belts you already own.
This is an open-top holster, meaning there is no thumb break or strap to fumble with. Retention comes from the molded leather and belt tension, and it holds the pistol securely through daily movement while still giving you a fast, clean draw. The interior is finished to be easy on your slide, so you can carry all day without chewing up the finish on your gun.
A quick note on leather: this holster is molded for a precise fit, so it comes tight out of the box. That is by design. Give it a short break-in period, wearing it and drawing from it a few times, and it loosens up and settles into that perfect snug fit. A little leather conditioner now and then keeps it looking sharp for years. The CM224B is built for the Glock 17 (Gen 1-5), Glock 22 (Gen 2-5), Glock 31, and the Ruger Security-9 without a thumb safety.
This model is molded for the Glock 17 (Gen 1 through 5), Glock 22 (Gen 2 through 5), and Glock 31. It also fits the Ruger Security-9 without a thumb safety. Since it is molded to those specific frames, a different gun won't fit correctly, so stick to the listed models.
It comes tight out of the box, which is normal for a hand-molded leather holster. Wear it and practice a few draws over the first week or so and it loosens up into a snug, secure fit. A little leather conditioner speeds the process and keeps the steerhide in good shape long term.
No, it is an open-top design with no strap or thumb break to work through. Retention comes from the molded leather gripping the gun combined with your belt tension. That setup keeps the pistol secure during normal activity while allowing a quick, unhindered draw.
Yes. The high-riding pancake cut pulls the gun in tight against your body and the butt-forward cant reduces printing. Under a jacket or an untucked shirt, even a full-size Glock 17 hides well for an OWB rig.
