This is a semi auto 9mm rifle that runs disintegrating link belts from a reusable 100 round bag hanging under the receiver, and when the belt runs dry you can drop in a Glock pattern 33 round magazine and keep going without missing a beat. The transition between belt and mag is instantaneous, and the last round bolt hold open works with the magazine so you always know where you stand.
Freedom Ordnance packed this second generation belt fed with clever engineering. There is a one handed bolt charging and hold open assist device, a belt feed system with magazine feed assist, and a patented belt chute that guides links smoothly into the action. The F.O.R.M. optic riser mount is built to work with an RMR and other popular red dots, and the upper is compatible with most AR type buffers, stocks, grips, and 9mm AR triggers, so customizing it feels familiar if you have ever wrenched on an AR. It even plays nice with most forced reset trigger designs.
The receiver is machined from billet aluminum, while critical components are heat treated 4140 chromoly and S7 tool steel wearing nitride and hard chrome finishes. The 16 inch button rifled barrel carries a 1:10 twist, QPQ nitride treatment, and 1/2×28 threading at the muzzle, so adding a can or comp is simple. It feeds most 9×19 FMJ and hollow point loads from 115 to 147 grains, which means bulk range ammo keeps it fed without drama.
This complete rifle ships with a 100 round belt bag, one factory 33 round Glock style magazine, B5 furniture, and a Savior American Classic soft case to haul it all. Cheap, plentiful 9mm is the whole point here. Load up a belt, invite some friends, and watch everyone else at the range suddenly become very interested in what you brought.
The FM9D is built to feed most 9×19 FMJ and hollow point ammunition in the 115 to 147 grain range. Standard pressure brass cased range ammo is your best bet for smooth belt feeding. Steer clear of cast lead and very light loads, since blowback belt fed systems like this one prefer full power ammunition.

The 16 inch barrel comes threaded 1/2×28 at the muzzle, which is the standard thread pitch for 9mm suppressors and muzzle devices. A blowback 9mm belt fed with a can on the end is about as much fun as a range trip gets. Just plan on running quality FMJ ammo to keep everything cycling smoothly.
