For years, folks have been dropping Franklin Armory binary trigger packs into their 10/22 builds to chase that pull-fire, release-fire experience. The F22 skips all that tinkering. This is a complete rifle built and tuned at the factory around the Binary Firing System, so the trigger, bolt, and enhanced firing pin are all working together the day you pick it up. Flip the selector to binary mode and the rifle fires one round on the pull and a second on the release, which turns an afternoon of plinking into something you will be grinning about on the drive home. Prefer to keep things traditional? The selector gives you standard semi-auto operation too.
The F22 runs on an action patterned after the Ruger 10/22, with a machined 7075 aluminum receiver at its core. That means it feeds from 10/22 pattern magazines and plays nice with a huge range of aftermarket 10/22 components, so parts and upgrades are easy to come by. It ships with one 10-round Ruger magazine. Franklin Armory also added smart touches like an extended magazine release for quicker swaps, a knurled charging handle that is easy to grab, and an auto bolt release that keeps things moving.
Up front you get a 16 inch heavy fluted bull barrel that adds rigidity without piling on the weight, and the muzzle is threaded 1/2×28 for your favorite suppressor or muzzle device. A quiet can on this rifle in binary mode is about as much fun as rimfire gets. The gray Hogue OverMolded stock gives you that grippy, comfortable feel Hogue is known for, even with cold or wet hands. There are no iron sights on board, but the integrated Picatinny rail on the receiver makes mounting a red dot or scope quick and painless.
With soft .22 LR recoil and simple controls, the F22 is a great first taste of binary shooting and a rifle that earns a permanent spot in the range rotation.
