The Franklin Armory BFSIII CZ-S1 turns your CZ Scorpion into a completely different gun on the range. This is a three-position trigger assembly with a flat, straight trigger face, and the headline feature is that binary third position: one round fires when you pull, and a second fires when you let the trigger back out. That doubled cadence is what makes it the quickest semi-auto trigger you can bolt into a Scorpion, and it's the reason so many owners describe the first range trip afterward as feeling like they picked up a brand new firearm.
The selector gives you three clear modes. Position one is safe and the gun won't fire. Position two is standard semi-auto, one round per pull, exactly what you're used to. Position three is binary, where you get the pull-and-release double. There's a smart safety feature built in too: if you're mid-cycle in binary and want to cancel the release shot, you just rotate the selector out of binary while holding the trigger back and that second round never happens. That abort function is worth dry-firing a bunch of times before you ever load a magazine.
Besides the trigger group itself, the kit includes an ambidextrous safety selector, which is a part plenty of Scorpion owners were already planning to swap out. Getting it in the same box means the install covers two upgrades at once. The flat face is the big difference between this S1 and its curved CZ-C1 sibling; the straight shoe helps a lot of folks keep consistent finger placement when the rate of fire climbs.
Many users report a smooth drop-in experience that takes roughly fifteen minutes, though a few housings may need light fitting, so a gunsmith or certified armorer is the safe call if you're not comfortable inside a trigger pack. Franklin Armory built this for the EVO 3 family, and newer production has also shown compatibility with the Scorpion 3+. Run through the factory dry-fire function test carefully before live fire, and get familiar with how binary mode behaves.
In the binary position, the trigger fires one round when you pull it and a second round when you release it. This gives you much faster split times between shots than a standard semi-auto pull. If you decide you don't want that release shot, you can rotate the selector out of binary while holding the trigger back to cancel it.
It's designed for the CZ Scorpion EVO 3 family, including S1, S2, pistol, and carbine models where Franklin Armory has fully tested it. Newer production has also shown compatibility with the Scorpion 3+, though that fitment isn't part of Franklin's official documentation yet. Some trigger housings may need minor fitting during install.
