Suppressed rimfire builds usually mean piecing together a threaded barrel, a separate can, and a lot of patience. The Franklin Armory F22-V skips all that. This is a complete, factory built 22 LR rifle with suppression engineered right into the 18 inch Angstadt Arms Vanquish barrel. The porting along the barrel bleeds off gas as the bullet travels down the bore, which pulls standard velocity ammo down to subsonic speeds before it ever leaves the muzzle. Translation: you get whisper quiet shots with the bulk ammo you already have, no hunting down pricey subsonic loads.
The Vanquish barrel uses a baffle free design, and that matters more than you might think with rimfire. Traditional 22 suppressors pack up with lead and carbon fast, and cleaning them is nobody's idea of a good time. With no baffle stack there is nothing to strike, nothing to scrub, and far less maintenance between range trips. The barrel itself is precision rifled 416R stainless, so accuracy holds up alongside the sound reduction instead of taking a back seat to it.
This rifle is built on Franklin Armory's F22 platform with a machined 7075 aluminum receiver wearing a black hardcoat anodized finish and an integrated Picatinny rail, so mounting your favorite rimfire optic takes minutes. The trigger is the well regarded Ruger BX unit, a crisp upgrade over most factory rimfire triggers, and the extended magazine release makes swapping the included 10 round mag quick and fumble free. An enhanced firing pin gives more consistent ignition, which is a welcome touch since rimfire primers can be finicky.
The black Magpul MOE X-22 stock keeps things light, comfortable, and durable for long plinking sessions. Backyard practice, small game, pest control, teaching a new shooter without the noise and blast, this rifle handles all of it. Quiet, accurate, low maintenance, and ready to go the day you bring it home.
No, and that is one of the best parts of this rifle. The Vanquish barrel is precision ported to bleed off gas as the bullet travels down the bore, which slows standard velocity 22 LR to subsonic speeds before it exits. You can run everyday bulk ammo and still get impressively quiet results.
Maintenance is much easier than a traditional rimfire can. The Vanquish barrel has no baffle stack, so there is no place for lead and carbon to pile up and nothing to disassemble and scrub. Routine bore cleaning and a wipe down cover most of your upkeep.
This particular model, part number 0290003BLK, ships with the Ruger BX trigger, which is a crisp, well liked semi-auto trigger. Franklin Armory also offers F22-V versions equipped with their Binary Firing System if that is more your speed. The F22 platform itself was designed around both setups.
The F22 platform is a 10/22 format design, so it feeds from Ruger 10/22 pattern magazines. It comes with one 10 round magazine, and the extended magazine release makes swaps noticeably faster than a standard setup.
