If you've ever pulled brass out of a dry vibratory tumbler and still found carbon crusted in the primer pockets, this is the stuff that fixes that. Frankford Arsenal's Stainless Steel Tumbling Media is a 2 lb container of magnetic 304 stainless pins sized at 1mm x 7mm, made for wet rotary tumbling. Dropped into a sealed drum with water and a bit of cleaning solution, these little pins circulate right through your cases and scrub the inside of the case body, the neck, and down into the primer pockets. The result is brass that comes out looking close to factory new, inside and out, without the dust that comes with corn cob or walnut.
The big draw over dry media is reach. Dry media mostly polishes the outside of a case, but these stainless pins get everywhere water flows, so carbon fouling, powder residue, and oxidation don't stand a chance. The 304 stainless construction resists rust and holds its shape through repeated use, so a single 2 lb batch will keep running for years rather than breaking down and needing replacement like organic media does.
Most reloaders run a mix of water, a drop or two of dish soap, and a pinch of citric acid style cleaner, then tumble for a few hours. Depriming your brass first lets the pins really clean out the primer pockets. Because the pins are magnetic, separating them from your finished brass is quick with a transfer magnet, and any stray pins left in a case mouth drop right out with a shake. Just plan to dry your brass fully before loading, since wet tumbling leaves cases damp.

No, these pins are made for wet rotary tumbling only. They work with water and a brass cleaning solution inside a sealed rotary drum, not dry vibratory bowls. Running them dry won't clean your brass and isn't what they're designed for.
Because these are magnetic 304 stainless pins, a media transfer magnet makes separation fast and simple. Most of the pins fall right out of the cases on their own, and a quick shake or a run through a media separator handles the rest. If a pin ever wedges in a small case mouth, a chopstick or small dowel pops it loose.
