Forward Controls Design built this optic plate for folks who want their red dot bolted down tight and staying put. The OPF-FN509T, RMR is a solid-state, one-piece steel plate machined from billet to mount a Trijicon RMR or SRO straight onto the slide of your FN 509 Tactical or 509 MRD. FCD took a hard look at the factory setup and wanted to do it their own way, favoring a design with no moving parts and seriously tight tolerances between the plate and the slide, as well as between the optic and the plate. The result is a mount that just does its job and gets out of the way.

What Sets the OPF-FN509T Plate Apart

The big draw here is the steel construction and the single-piece layout. Rather than relying on a multi-part arrangement, this plate uses threaded posts that engage the optic-to-mount screws to fully support the dot front and rear, which helps keep your sight from shifting around under recoil. Steel also means the plate holds up over the long haul, so you're not babying it. Your factory FN 509 Tactical suppressor-height sights stay compatible too, giving you a lower 1/3 co-witness through the optic window.

Fitment and Optic Compatibility for the FN 509 Plate

This one is purpose-built for the Trijicon RMR and SRO footprint. FCD is upfront that it's not guaranteed to play nice with non-Trijicon sights that share the RMR footprint, so if you're running a genuine Trijicon dot you're in good shape. It fits the FN 509 Tactical, 509 MRD, and 509 MRD-LE.

Installing the FN 509 Optic Plate

Installation is straightforward with the right tools. The two 6-40 x 1/2 T10 screws thread in from the top of the optic, down through the plate, and into the slide. FCD calls for a torque value between 12 and 13 in-lb, so you'll want a proper torque wrench on hand to set them right. Designed and made in the USA.
