Description

Grayboe built the Flagstaff around a simple idea: one good stock should be able to serve more than one rifle. This fixed stock ships in the Alpine Sponge finish, a mottled hand painted pattern in light tones that fits right in on late season hunts through snow and rock country. It's molded from the same impact resistant polymer Grayboe uses across their lineup, tough enough for military and industrial use, so it can take a beating in the field without cracking or flexing.

Why the Flagstaff UMC Compatible Stock Swaps Rifles With Ease

The name says it all. This Flagstaff stock is built to accept Grayboe's Universal Mini Chassis, a billet aluminum chassis that bolts to your action and drops into the stock. Since Grayboe machines inlets for a long list of actions, including Remington 700, Howa, Ruger American, Tikka, and Savage 110, you can move the same stock between different rifles and calibers instead of buying a new one every time your setup changes. Magazines feed straight into the belly of the stock through the chassis, so there's no bottom metal to fuss with, just AICS pattern mags clicking into place.

Built for Long Days Behind the Flagstaff

Grayboe kept the ergonomics traditional on this one. A 35 degree grip angle, textured surface, and a thumbshelf keep your hand where it belongs shot after shot, and finger grooves run down both sides of the 11.25 inch forend for steadier offhand shots. The barrel channel is cut wide enough to clear heavy contours up to a Proof Research Carbon Sendero, and aluminum pillars are molded right into the stock, so it's ready to shoot without a trip to the gunsmith for bedding.

Mounting Options on the Flagstaff Stock

M-LOK slots run down the forend for bolting on a bipod rail, picatinny section, or arca plate, and two QD sling sockets are already built in for a fast carry setup. At 2.5 pounds with the UMC installed and 31.5 inches overall, the Flagstaff stays light on the pack without feeling flimsy in your hands. Grayboe backs every stock with a lifetime warranty and builds them right here in the USA.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Flagstaff stock include the Universal Mini Chassis?

No, this listing is for the Flagstaff stock itself. The UMC chassis is sold separately so you can pick the exact inlet that matches your action, whether that's a Remington 700, Howa, Ruger American, or another supported platform.

What rifles will fit the Flagstaff UMC compatible stock?

Any action that has a matching UMC inlet will work, and Grayboe offers inlets for Remington 700 and clones, Howa, Ruger American, Tikka, Savage 110, and more. Short and long actions are both supported, just make sure you order the UMC built for your specific action and caliber.

What magazines does this stock use?

The Flagstaff runs AICS pattern detachable magazines that click directly into the stock through the UMC chassis, so there's no separate bottom metal to install. Short action builds use standard short AICS mags, while long action setups use 3.715 or 3.850 inch mags depending on which UMC model you run.

Does the Alpine Sponge finish hold up over time?

It's a mottled, light toned pattern applied with a durable polyurethane based paint, not a cheap coating that flakes off after a season. It's meant to handle truck beds, pack straps, and rough field use while still looking sharp.
