Fiocchi's Shooting Dynamics line is built on a simple idea: serious target shooters shouldn't have to choose between affordability and reliability. These 12-gauge shells load 1 ounce of hard chilled lead shot at 1200 fps, giving you the velocity and pattern density you need for trap and sporting clays without the punishing recoil of heavier loads.
Each shell combines Fiocchi's industry-leading primers with clean-burning powder and one-piece shot cups. The cushioned wad design absorbs some of the recoil energy while maintaining consistent shot separation, so your patterns stay tight through 25-round boxes. That matters when you're practicing your form or grinding through qualifying rounds.
The number 7.5 shot size sits in that sweet spot for clay work. It's got enough individual pellet weight to break clays decisively at typical 20 to 40-yard distances, but it's smaller than heavier 7 shot, so you get better pattern density from that 1-ounce payload. You'll see around 390 pellets per shell, which builds a dense enough pattern to handle slight form variations without sacrificing down-range effectiveness.
Where these shells shine is durability through repetition. The brass is Boxer-primed and reloadable, so if you reload, you're getting good components to start with. The non-corrosive powder burns clean, which means less fouling in your barrel during extended sessions. That keeps your gun running smoothly whether you're at a trap range or working through a sporting clays course, and it means less scrubbing at the end of the day.
If you're a high-volume shooter looking to keep costs down without sacrificing the reliability you need to focus on your fundamentals, these deliver.
Yes, these are specifically designed for clay target shooting. The 1 ounce of #7.5 shot at 1200 fps is the standard recommendation for trap, and the #7.5 size is commonly used in skeet and sporting clays as well. The moderate recoil makes them ideal for longer practice sessions where you need to stay focused on form.
These 1200 fps shells will cycle through most modern semi-auto shotguns, though it's always worth checking that your specific gun can handle lighter target loads. If you have a new or well-maintained semi-auto, you'll be fine. Some older or tighter-toleranced guns may require the slightly heavier 1 1/8 ounce Dynamics load instead.
Yes, these shells come in Boxer-primed brass cases that are fully reloadable. That's one reason they're popular with high-volume shooters who reload. The cases are durable and consistent across boxes, making them reliable for building your own loads once you get into reloading.
Fiocchi Shooting Dynamics deliver comparable performance to higher-priced brands at a fraction of the cost. They use quality primers, chilled lead shot, and consistent powder charges. Most competitive shooters and serious practice shooters find them reliable enough for winning tournaments or grinding through practice without the premium price. You're trading some brand prestige for value.
