Fiocchi's been around since 1876, and you can tell they know what they're doing when you handle a box of these shells. The Field Dynamics Dove & Quail load sits right in that sweet spot between performance and value, making it a go-to choice for folks who hunt regularly or spend time at the range.
These shells are built around the fundamentals: quality chilled lead shot, clean-burning powder, and reliable primers. The one-piece shot cup keeps your pattern tight while the cushioned wads absorb recoil and protect the shot, preventing deformation. That translates to consistent shot placement whether you're working doves in an early-season field or patterning your gun at 25 yards. The 1250 fps velocity sits in a practical range, fast enough to be effective but manageable for sustained shooting.
With number 8 shot, these rounds are sized specifically for small upland game birds. You'll get good pattern density without excessive recoil, which matters when you're doing high-volume shooting over a long day. The effective range typically runs 35 to 40 yards on dove and quail, where the pattern is still dense enough for clean, ethical harvests. New shooters appreciate the moderate recoil and forgiving patterns.
These aren't fancy ammunition, and they don't pretend to be. They're built for the job at hand: putting birds in the bag affordably and reliably. Whether you're splitting time between hunting and clay target practice, these Field Dynamics shells won't nickle and dime you while delivering the consistency Fiocchi is known for. The 25-round box keeps costs reasonable for practice days or light hunting trips.
Yes. The moderate recoil and good pattern density make these shells approachable for newer shooters while still delivering effective performance. You'll get reliable ignition and consistent patterns without a heavy kick.
These Field Dynamics shells are effective out to about 35 to 40 yards on dove and quail. Beyond that distance, the pattern becomes too sparse for reliable, ethical harvests on small birds. The number 8 shot size is optimized for this range window.
Absolutely. These Field Dynamics loads work for both applications. They're reliable enough for dove hunting and economical enough to shoot regularly at the range without breaking the bank. Many folks use them as an all-purpose shell for upland seasons and practice days.
Fiocchi's Field Dynamics line represents their commitment to delivering quality general-purpose shotshells that balance performance with value. These loads use quality components and consistent powders to give you dependable field and range performance without a premium price tag.
