The FightLite Industries MCR-060 is a drop-on upper receiver assembly that does something no ordinary AR-15 upper can pull off: it feeds from both standard box magazines and M27 linked ammunition at the flip of a feed cover. This is the Mission Configurable Rifle system that started as a select-fire military platform, reworked into a semi-auto format for the rest of us. It clamps onto any MIL-Spec lower without permanent modification, and it's rearward compatible with AR15/M16 lowers going all the way back to 1963. Instead of the direct impingement setup most AR uppers run, the MCR uses a short-stroke gas piston. That keeps hot gas and carbon out of the receiver, which pays off during long strings and dusty range days. The 16.25" barrel is chrome-lined with a 1:7 twist and a 1/2×28 threaded muzzle, so it handles heavier match bullets and takes standard muzzle devices. The receiver, feed cover, and charging handle are machined from 7075-T6 billet aluminum with a hardcoat anodized finish, and the feed tray is billet steel. It's built to take a beating.
The quick-change barrel system lets you swap barrels in about three seconds with fixed headspace, so no timing headaches. Up top you get a MIL-STD 1913 co-planar handguard with a full-length rail for optics, lights, and whatever else you run. One thing worth knowing from folks who run these hard: belt feeding likes a heavier buffer, and an H3 (roughly 5.4 ounces) tends to give the mass needed to strip rounds cleanly from the links. FightLite includes their own M27 links for a reason, and sticking with their links makes belt runs a lot smoother.

You get 100 M27 links in the box, and sticking with FightLite's own links is strongly recommended. Not all M27 links are cut the same, and off-brand links can cause feeding hiccups even when they look identical. Running the factory links keeps belt cycling smooth.
