Description

Fierce made its name building high-end carbon barrel mountain rifles, and the Twisted Rogue is what happens when they take that same recipe and swap in a steel barrel and stainless receiver to keep the cost sensible. What you get is a 7mm PRC hunting rifle that still carries like a premium build. The 20 inch barrel is a match grade #4 contour, hand lapped and cut with deep spiral flutes that shave weight and shed heat, and the whole rifle comes in right around 6 pounds before glass. For a long-action magnum, that is genuinely light.

What Makes the Twisted Rogue Tick

The heart of the rifle is Fierce's two-lug action built on the familiar 700 pattern, so scope bases, rails, and aftermarket support are everywhere. The spiral-fluted bolt runs a short 70 degree throw, which keeps your knuckles clear of the eyepiece and speeds up follow-ups. Rounds feed from a 3+1 internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate, keeping the belly of the rifle slick for packing. Up front, the muzzle is threaded 5/8×24 and wears Fierce's NIX side-port self-timing brake, which takes real sting out of the 7mm PRC. Pull the brake and most suppressors spin right on, and the 20 inch tube keeps the whole package from turning into a flagpole once a can is attached.

Twisted Rogue Details That Matter in the Field

The Phantom camo carbon fiber stock is stiff, light, and shaped for shooting off a pack or a bipod, with QD flush cups for your sling and an integral rail up front for bipod mounting. The Glacier Cerakote finish over the metalwork shrugs off weather and pack straps alike. Chambered in 7mm PRC with a fast twist that stabilizes the heavy, high-BC bullets the cartridge was designed around, this is a legitimate elk, mule deer, and open-country rig that will not wear you out on the climb. It is the most affordable way into a Fierce, and it gives up very little to its carbon-barreled siblings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I run a suppressor on the Fierce Twisted Rogue?

Yes. The muzzle is threaded 5/8×24, which is the standard pattern for most commercial suppressors in this bore size. Just remove the included NIX brake and thread your can on directly. The 20 inch barrel also keeps overall length manageable once a suppressor is mounted.

Does the Twisted Rogue use a detachable magazine?

No, this model feeds from a 3+1 internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate. That setup keeps the bottom of the rifle snag-free for backpack hunts and drops the empty rounds out fast when it is time to unload. If you want a detachable box, Fierce offers XP versions of the Rogue platform with that configuration.

How is the Twisted Rogue different from the Fierce Carbon Rogue?

The core difference is the barrel and receiver material. The Twisted Rogue uses a deep spiral-fluted steel barrel and stainless action instead of the carbon-wrapped barrel found on the Carbon Rogue, which brings the price down considerably. The fluting keeps the weight penalty small, so you still end up with a very packable rifle.

Is a 20 inch barrel long enough for 7mm PRC?

You give up some velocity versus a 22 or 24 inch tube, typically in the neighborhood of 25 to 30 fps per inch, but the 7mm PRC has plenty in the tank for practical hunting distances. In exchange you get a rifle that is shorter, lighter, and much easier to handle in timber, in a blind, or with a suppressor attached. For a mountain rig, it is a smart trade.
