The GL19R V2 represents a real step forward in compact weapon-mounted lighting. It starts with the same 1200-lumen output as its predecessor, but the redesigned Luminus SFT25R LED and new glass lens with TIR reflector boost the candela output to 44,300, which nearly doubles the effective range to 1378 feet. That matters when you need to identify a threat from across a room or down a hallway.
The V2 update isn't just brighter. The beam pattern combines a tight, concentrated hotspot with useful spill light at close range, which is exactly what you want on a defensive pistol. The 6000K color temperature cuts through low light environments without the weird color issues you get from some cheaper lights. Build-wise, it's impact-resistant aluminum with an IP66 rating that handles dust, dirt, and moisture without breaking a sweat.
Ambidextrous switches work from either side of the light, so whether you're right or left-handed, you get the same fast control. The package includes three different switch configurations so you can customize what feels natural for your grip. Mounting happens through a quick-lock mechanism that attaches securely to Glock or Picatinny rails. It's a solid clamp that doesn't wiggle once it's torqued down, and you can adjust the tension with a small flathead screw. The light comes with both mounting plate options, so you've got compatibility with most full-sized pistols.
The included ARB-L18-1100 18350 rechargeable battery runs for about 55 minutes at max output. USB Type-C charging happens right in the light through a covered port, and a battery-level indicator shows your power status. If you prefer to swap batteries and charge separately, the light accepts standard Fenix 18350 cells. Just stick with Fenix batteries to avoid compatibility issues.
The GL19R V2 works on most full-sized pistols with Glock or Picatinny rails. It comes with mounting plates for both, so compatibility is wide. That said, subcompact and micro-compact pistols typically won't have compatible rails. Check your pistol's rail type before ordering, and remember that some holsters may need to be custom-fitted for this light.
Fenix recommends using their ARB-L18-1100 18350 battery for reliable performance. Other brands of 18350 Li-ion cells aren't officially supported because mismatched batteries can cause the light to malfunction or fail. Stick with Fenix batteries to avoid headaches.
Charging from completely empty to full takes about 2 hours using the included USB Type-C cable. The light itself has a built-in charging indicator that shows red while charging and green when fully charged. You can't use the light while it's charging, so plan your charging around your training or duty schedule.
