These shells load 766 grains per slug and retain enough energy at 100 yards (around 1600 ft-lbs) to get the job done on game. This is a serious load. The 10 gauge is inherently powerful, and a 3.5" magnum shell with a heavy slug produces considerable recoil. A lighter shotgun will kick harder than a heavier one, so that matters. Make sure your gun is properly shouldered and you're using a pad if your gun doesn't have one already.
