This 6-inch barrel sits at the most compact end of the 300 Blackout world, and Faxon leaned into exactly what makes that length shine. Instead of the usual 1:7 or 1:8 twist you see on most 300 BLK barrels, Faxon spun this one up to a fast 1:5. That extra spin does real work stabilizing heavy subsonic projectiles, the kind of bullets that make this cartridge sing when you're running suppressed. It'll also handle lightweight supersonic loads just fine, so you're not boxed into one type of ammo.
The Match Series is Faxon's precision-focused line, and it shows in the build. The barrel is cut from 416-R stainless steel with 5R button rifling, which uses a sloped land geometry that cuts down on bullet deformation and fouling while making cleanup easier. It gets a salt bath nitride finish inside and out for corrosion resistance that doesn't mess with bore geometry, plus a Nickel Teflon coated M4 extension that tightens up the receiver fit and adds dry lubricity. Every barrel is stress relieved, air-gauge tested, magnetic particle inspected, and headspace checked with custom PTG gauges. It's topped off with a recessed 11-degree target crown to protect the bore edge and keep gas release even.
The Gunner profile is Faxon's blend of two proven contours: the durability of the Gov't/SOCOM and the weight savings of a Pencil. On a barrel this short you're already sitting light, and the Gunner keeps the balance pulled back toward your body so the whole build handles quick. This one tips the scale right around 0.74 lbs, runs a pistol-length gas system, a .750 gas block journal, and 5/8×24 muzzle threads that thread straight into most 30-caliber cans and muzzle devices.

The 6-inch length keeps the overall package short even after you add a can, which is why it's popular for PDW-style and pistol builds. It'll cycle supersonic loads too, but its sweet spot is suppressed subsonic shooting.
Faxon sped up the twist to 1:5 specifically to stabilize the heavy subsonic projectiles that 300 BLK shooters lean on. Faster twist means better projectile stabilization and more energy on target, especially out of a short barrel. It still handles lightweight supersonic bullets, so you keep flexibility across ammo types.
It runs a pistol-length gas system with a .750 gas block journal, which is the right setup for a barrel this short. The muzzle is threaded 5/8×24, the standard for 30-caliber suppressors and muzzle devices. Because it's such a short barrel with a short gas system, running a suppressor helps with reliable cycling on subsonic loads.
The 5R rifling uses sloped lands that reduce bullet deformation and fouling, which translates to better accuracy and easier cleaning compared to traditional rifling. The salt bath nitride finish covers the barrel inside and out for corrosion resistance without changing the bore geometry. Together they make for a barrel that shoots consistently and holds up over a long service life.
