The 6mm ARC has exploded in popularity over the past few years, and this Fail Zero Assembled Bolt Carrier Group 6mm ARC was built specifically to keep pace with that growth. It arrives fully assembled and ready to drop into nearly any mil-spec upper chambered for the cartridge, so there's no hunting down small parts or fussing with fitment before you head to the range.
Fail Zero didn't cut corners on materials. The bolt is machined from 9310 steel and shot-peened for added strength, then high-pressure tested to hold up to the pressures this cartridge generates. The carrier itself is 8620 steel, built in a full-auto profile that carries the mass needed for smooth, consistent cycling. The gas key is properly staked to the carrier with hardened fasteners, a small detail that separates a BCG built to last from one that loosens up after a season of shooting.
Every wear part on this bolt carrier group, from the bolt and extractor to the cam pin and firing pin, gets treated with Fail Zero's EXO Nickel Boron coating. That bright silver finish isn't just for looks. It creates a slick, dry-lubricity surface that fights carbon buildup and resists corrosion, so wiping this BCG down after a dirty range day takes a fraction of the time a standard phosphate carrier would need. It's a finish that plenty of folks running suppressed 6mm ARC builds have come to rely on for keeping fouling to a minimum.
This version skips the hammer, so if your lower already has one, you're covered. This BCG is focused purely on getting the bolt and carrier side of the equation right. The parts are sourced and coated right here in the US by UCT Coatings, a company that's been refining nickel boron technology since 2009. Drop it in, run a few rounds through it, and get back to whatever drew you to the 6mm ARC in the first place, whether that's flat-shooting long range accuracy or a lighter recoiling hunting setup.
It's built to fit most mil-spec upper receivers chambered in 6mm ARC without any extra machining or fitting. Since 6mm ARC shares the same Type 2 bolt face as 6.5 Grendel, it will also run in Grendel uppers using that bolt face. As always, it's a good idea to double check your specific upper's spec before ordering.
This is the No Hammer version, meaning it focuses on the bolt and carrier assembly only. If your lower already has a hammer installed, you don't need another one, so this configuration keeps things simple and avoids paying for a part you already have.
The EXO Nickel Boron coating gives the metal a natural dry lubricity, so it will run smoother and longer between cleanings than a standard finish. That said, a light coat of your favorite gun oil never hurts and can help keep things running even smoother in dusty or high-round-count conditions.
Nickel Boron is known for shedding carbon and fouling more easily than phosphate or raw steel finishes, which makes cleanup noticeably quicker. It also adds a layer of corrosion resistance, so the finish holds up well even if the rifle sits between range trips.
