The FAB Defense UAS-AKP is one of those upgrades that quietly fixes a few things at once. It replaces your fixed AK stock with a left-folding design that trims the overall length way down for storage, transport, or tucking into a shorter case, then locks back open with a solid claw when you pull it out. The main body is MIL-SPEC polymer composite, so it holds up to real field use without piling weight onto the rifle. Installation is straightforward on stamped receivers and comes down to a single bolt with a threaded brass sleeve, though getting the original stock off can take some patience depending on how it was fitted from the factory.
The standout feature here is the embedded, height-adjustable cheek riser. It pops up at the push of a button to put your eye right behind an optic, then drops flush in a second if you need to go back to iron sights. No permanent risers, no foam pads that deform the stock, no fumbling in the field. That flexibility is why a lot of AK owners running both irons and glass gravitate toward this one. Worth knowing: with the stock folded, you can still fire with the cheek riser in the lower two positions, but the higher settings will contact the charging handle and need to be dropped first.
