The FAB Defense Tactical Folding Foregrip (model FGG-S) is one of those accessories that quietly earns its spot on the rail. It clamps onto any 1913 MIL-STD Picatinny rail and gives you two grips in one: fold it down flat when you want a slim, snag-free profile, then pop it up into a full vertical grip when you need more control. The switch happens at the push of a button, so there is no fumbling or tools involved when you want to change positions on the fly.
Built from tough polymer with a matte black finish, it keeps things light at right around five ounces, which means you get the added handling without turning your setup into a boat anchor. The textured grip surface gives your support hand something to bite into, and the deployed grip locks in with a positive click so it stays put through firing sessions.
This grip pulls double duty across handguns and rifles. On a railed pistol it is designed to sit out of the way in the horizontal position so it does not interfere with firing, then flips vertical when you want a steadier two-handed hold. On an AR or other long gun with rail space up front, it gives you a compact vertical grip that folds down out of the way for storage or transport. Folded, the deployed length runs about 3.9 inches, and standing up it reaches roughly 5.43 inches tall.
The adapt and removal mechanism is quick, so moving the grip between firearms or pulling it off entirely takes seconds rather than a gunsmithing session. If you run multiple platforms and want one grip that can hop between them, that flexibility is a real perk. FAB Defense has been building tactical gear for military and police use for years, and this grip carries that same no-nonsense, get-it-done reputation.
It mounts to any 1913 MIL-STD Picatinny rail. That covers most AR-pattern rifles with rail space up front, as well as handguns that have an underside accessory rail. The clamp-style mount goes on and comes off quickly without tools.
Yes. The FGG-S is designed for both handguns and rifles as long as there is Picatinny rail space to clamp onto. On a pistol it is built so the horizontal position stays clear of the firing action, and the quick removal mechanism makes it easy to move between firearms.
You release the lock at the side of the grip to flip it between a folded horizontal position and an upright vertical grip. It deploys with a positive click so it holds its position, and the whole switch takes just a second or two. No buttons to hunt for or parts to line up.
Not at all. It is molded from polymer and weighs in around five ounces, so it adds handling and control without noticeably weighing down your firearm. That light weight is a big part of why folks like running it on lighter pistol and carbine builds.
