The ETS Carbon Smoke Gen 2 delivers what a lot of people have been wanting from the AR-15 world: a magazine with a built-in coupler that actually works without extra straps or clips. You get a full 30-round capacity in a translucent polymer body so you can see exactly how many rounds are loaded and what type of ammunition you're running. That transparency thing sounds simple, but it saves real time on the range when you're checking mag status at a glance.
The integrated coupler on each side of the mag lets you twist two together in about two seconds flat, no tools needed. Real-world testing shows the coupling stays locked even after being dropped, stepped on, and thrown around. One reviewer put nearly 800 rounds through a set of eight of these mags and reported zero malfunctions or issues with the connection coming loose. The whole system is staggered slightly so a coupled pair still clears your AR's ejection port cover without any fitment problems.
The polymer used here resists impacts, harsh chemicals, UV exposure, and temperature swings without becoming brittle. The creep-resistant design keeps feed lips from spreading even during long-term storage with a full magazine. Inside you'll find a no-tilt follower paired with a steel wire spring for consistent feeding and proper round alignment. The oversized cartridge-shaped button on the floorplate makes cleaning dead simple: push it, slide the baseplate off, and reassemble just as easily.
Each magazine includes ribbed grips for better control during reloads and comes with a clip-on dust cover. The whole package is backed by ETS's lifetime warranty, made in the USA, and designed to work with standard AR-15 platforms running .223 Remington or 5.56 NATO ammunition.
Two ETS magazines line up perpendicular to each other, and you twist them so they become parallel. The built-in male and female connection points on each side lock together. Once coupled, they stay secure even with rough handling. You can detach them just as quickly whenever you need to use them separately.
Yes. The translucent carbon smoke polymer lets you see the round count and ammo type from any angle without removing the magazine from your magazine well. This makes it quick and easy to track your magazine status during range sessions or training.
ETS AR-15 magazines are built to STANAG spec and work with any standard AR-15 lower and mag well, regardless of brand. That said, test fitment before committing to a larger quantity, especially if you're using a tight-tolerance receiver.
The Gen 2 features improved feed lip geometry for better receiver compatibility and a larger over-insertion tab for increased mag retention. The result is a magazine that fits and seats more reliably in a wider range of AR platforms.
