The Hatsan Escort DF12 FDE is a gas-operated, magazine-fed 12-gauge built around the familiar layout of a modern sporting rifle. The SMART Valve Piston is a self-regulating gas system that automatically adjusts to the load being fired, cycling everything from light 7/8 oz target loads up to 2 oz magnum shells in both 2-3/4" and 3" lengths. You can even mix different loads in the same magazine without running into cycling problems.
The FDE DF12 ships with two 5-round box magazines. Escort also offers 2-round magazines for hunting applications with capacity restrictions, and 10-round magazines are available separately for those who want more rounds on tap. Magazines are specific to the Escort VTS platform.
The DF12 is built with a full Picatinny rail on top of the receiver for red dots, scopes, or the included carry handle. The forend features a full-length bottom rail plus shorter rails at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions for lights, lasers, or a foregrip.
