The 10mm and the 1911 have been running together since the Delta Elite days, and the Girsan MC1911 Negotiator TALO Edition keeps that pairing alive with some serious style. This is a fully machined steel pistol from top to bottom, weighing in right around 40 ounces unloaded. That weight is your best friend behind a 10mm, soaking up recoil and settling the muzzle back down fast so follow-up shots come easy. Turkish-built by Girsan and imported by EAA, this TALO exclusive is the 10mm chapter in the Negotiator family, and it might be the best looking one yet.
The black slide and frame get set off by gold titanium nitride on the barrel, trigger, hammer, and controls, and the lightning cuts machined into the slide give it a profile you can pick out from across the counter. But the good stuff runs deeper than the finish. The action is hand tuned at the factory, and the skeletonized trigger breaks clean in the 4 to 5 pound range. Up top you get a fiber optic front sight that grabs light in a hurry and a fully adjustable rear, which matters in 10mm since bullet weights run everywhere from 155 to 220 grains and your point of impact shifts with them. Dial it in for your load and go.
The forged carbon steel frame carries an extended beavertail, enlarged grip safety, checkered front strap, and ambidextrous thumb safeties. Checkered G10 grips lock your hand in place when the recoil gets stout, and the flared magwell speeds up reloads. A frame-mounted accessory rail gives you a home for a light, which is not something every 1911 offers.
With a 5 inch barrel, 8.75 inch overall length, and 9+1 capacity, this is a proper Government-size 10mm that works for hog hunting backup, woods carry, or just turning heads at the range. It feeds from standard 1911 10mm magazines and ships with one 9-rounder, so spares are easy to come by.
No, the barrel is not ported. The cuts you see are lightning cuts machined into the slide only, which trim a little weight and give the pistol its distinctive look. The gold titanium nitride barrel underneath is a solid, conventional 1911 lockup design with a standard bushing.
Yes, the rear sight is fully adjustable for windage and elevation, and the front is a fixed fiber optic. That is a real advantage in 10mm, where loads range from soft-shooting 155 grain target ammo to heavy 200 plus grain woods loads that print at different heights. You can zero the pistol for whatever you feed it most.
It is built for it. The forged carbon steel frame and slide bring the pistol to roughly 40 ounces, and that mass does a lot of work taming full-power 10mm recoil. The checkered front strap, G10 grips, and extended beavertail help you keep a solid hold through hot loads.
It ships with one 9-round magazine and runs standard full-size 1911 magazines chambered for 10mm Auto, so finding spares is simple. Just make sure you are buying 10mm-specific 1911 mags, since .45 ACP magazines will not feed this cartridge properly.
