Dan Wesson does not cut corners on parts. You get an Ed Brown slide stop, an extended thumb safety, a Commander-style hammer, a long K-style trigger, and Wolff springs throughout. Front and rear cocking serrations make press checks and slide manipulation easy, and the double diamond cocobolo grips warm up the all-stainless look with real character.
Chambered in .45 ACP with an 8+1 capacity, the PM-7 ships with two 8-round magazines and weighs in around 40 ounces, which soaks up recoil and keeps follow-up shots settled. This model wears a BoMar-style fully adjustable rear sight paired with a serrated front blade that kills glare for a crisp, clean sight picture. It is a Series 70 style 1911, meaning there is no firing pin block tied into the trigger. That is part of why the single action trigger on this pistol breaks so cleanly. Many 1911 purists prefer the Series 70 design for exactly that reason.
