The DISSENT MK47 answers a question plenty of folks have asked over the years: why can't one rifle give you AR controls, AK magazines, and a truly compact package? CMMG got there by pairing their bufferless DISSENT operating system with the overbuilt MK47 lower, so this direct impingement gun runs its recoil system inside the receiver instead of a buffer tube. No buffer tube means the side-folding stock collapses flat against the receiver, and the rifle packs down small for the truck, the safe, or a backpack-friendly case. Feed it from the same steel and polymer AK-pattern mags you probably already have stacked on a shelf.
The forward-mounted, non-reciprocating charging handle sits right where your support hand lives, so you can run the action without breaking your grip, and it swaps to either side for left-handed use. Ambidextrous controls and CMMG's ZEROED 60/90 degree safety keep the layout familiar, while the ZEROED single-stage trigger breaks clean out of the box. The folding stock adjusts for both length of pull and cheek height, so getting behind an optic comfortably takes about a minute of setup.
Up front you get a 16.1 inch medium taper barrel with a 1:10 twist that stabilizes the full spread of 7.62×39 loads, capped with a ZEROED muzzle brake on standard 5/8×24 threads. That thread pitch plays nice with most 30 caliber cans, and the adjustable gas block lets you dial the system down for suppressed shooting or fine-tune it to your preferred ammo.
