There are plenty of black rifles out there. This is not one of them. The Diamondback DB10 in Jesse James Civil Defense Blue takes a proven .308 Winchester AR-10 platform and gives it a finish you will not lose in the rack. Underneath that blue coat is a rifle built entirely in Diamondback's Cocoa, Florida facility, using forged 7075-T6 aluminum receivers and the same direct impingement gas system that has been running reliably for decades.
The 16-inch light-profile 4150 ChromeMoly barrel keeps the overall package handy at just under 8 pounds, which matters on a .308 since big-bore ARs tend to get heavy fast. The 1:10 twist rate stabilizes the full range of common .308 loads, from 147 grain plinking ammo up through 175 grain match bullets. A mid-length gas system smooths out the recoil impulse compared to carbine-length setups, and the muzzle wears a standard A2 flash hider on 5/8×24 threads, so swapping to a brake or suppressor mount is a five-minute job. Inside, a shot-peened Mil-Spec 8620 bolt carrier handles the hard work.
Diamondback did not cut corners on the touch points. You get a Magpul MOE carbine stock that adjusts from 34.12 to 37.31 inches of overall length, a Magpul MOE-K grip, and a genuine 20-round Magpul PMAG in the box. The free-floated 15-inch M-LOK handguard gives you room for a full-length grip, plus plenty of real estate for lights, bipods, and sling mounts wherever you want them.
With a 16-inch barrel and 20+1 capacity, this DB10 is a solid fit for hog hunting, deer season, ranch work, or just stretching your legs past where a 5.56 starts running out of steam. The .308 chambering means ammo is everywhere, from budget steel-case range fodder to premium hunting loads. Add a decent optic and you have a do-it-all big bore that stands out at the range for more than one reason.
It is a Cerakote-style applied finish, which is one of the tougher coatings you can put on a firearm. It resists scratches, corrosion, and solvents far better than standard anodizing alone. Treat it like any coated rifle and it will keep its color through years of range trips and hunts.
Yes. The barrel is threaded in the standard 5/8×24 pattern for .308, and it ships with an A2 flash hider installed. Just spin off the A2 and mount your brake, comp, or suppressor adapter of choice.
A 1:10 twist is a great all-around rate for .308 Winchester. It handles everything from 147 grain FMJ range ammo up to 168 and 175 grain match loads without issue. For hunting, common 150 to 165 grain soft points and bonded bullets are right in its wheelhouse.
It ships with a 20-round Magpul PMAG and runs on SR-25/DPMS-pattern magazines, which are the most common .308 AR mags on the market. That means spare PMAGs and similar magazines are easy to find in various capacities.
